so what do we think of the line up?
in all honesty even though my fave band Chiefs are playing the line in my eyes is rather tame
Radiohead yes I know legends probably rightly so me never really got them
obviously far too clever for me ![]()
but going on the previous years with the line ups of NIN Metallica Foos Rage Against the Machine Queens of the Stoneage who this year is for the metallers? Bloc Party?
I hope to get there though all things said and done
in a working capacity
wouldnt mind working along with The Prodigy as my backing track ![]()

Ugh I can't stand the Prodigy. I'm managing to just accept Pendulum but I just dont have an interest in that type of music xD. Line up looks good, Arctic Monkeys and KOL
Oh and Bloc Party arn't half bad too.
Is anyone going to it?

Line-up at this stage is not as good as last year but for me it's rarely about the main stage bands anyway. Last year was the best festival for years and hoping this one will be good too.
I've never seen Radiohead and that'll be a cool way to end the festival.
I love Prodigy but they have been terrible at every Reading I've seen them... might give them another chance.
Eagles of Death Metal and Deftones prob the most pleasing for metal fans on there.

Leeds looks alright. Prefer last year personally.

ya what?
I dont think this year was as good as last year or 2005 by any stretch of the imagination. Seemed every time there was a band on to set up the atmosphere they would kill it straight after with a band like Radiohead. Yes I did just say that. I can honestly say after watching their set from my stall on the main stage I am not a fan, it felt like the festival had finished after the blinding set Bloc Party played only for Radiohead to come on late, which did lead to a lot of people walking out. Was the same with Prodigy and Arctic Monkeys, Prodigy set it up got the crowd totally hyped and buzzing only for AM's to come in and kill it off again, I am guessing they did it to stop the few who want to cause trouble but I think the majority suffered instead. Got speaking to quite a few people and including the seasoned pro's on merch and we all agreed that Reading Festival vibe just wasnt really there this year.
Really did not get the line up's either on main stage they were all so mixed there wasnt a set genre on any day which didnt help either. Was a shame but I did really enjoy it regardless, had some right laughs with the punters (when they cheered up, jesus it was hard going on Friday and Saturday afternoon) Worked bloody hard and can feel aches and pains in places I had forgotten I had muscles but all worth it. Cant wait till next year
hopefully they will sort the line up a little better to get that buzzing vibe back

How come people were upset on Friday & Saturday afternoon?
My mate went just for the friday, he thought it was good but I dont think he's been to a festival before. Caught a bit of the AM on BBC Three, didnt think the set was that great but I still would have been happy to have seen it at reading.
Maybe the festival this year wasn't as good because PATP wernt there? ![]()

they werent upset they just werent as upbeat and relaxed as previous year
you would try to involve them in banter and make the sale more interesting and you would get one word answers and mumbles
sunday was by far the best day had lots of banter and laughs and before I realised it was half six and half the day had gone
was grand
