Awww no...sending virtual hugs for you ![]()
I didn't lose a fuzzy creature last week. I lost a beast of another kind - my 13 yr old car finally gave up the ghost. Selling it for scrap metal and parts today.
I can walk to and from work but getting to and from gigs is going to be difficult. Mainly for late gigs as the late night/night owl bus stops a couple of miles from where I live. I'm not thrilled about walking that far late at night. Unfortunately many of my gig-going friends don't live near me - they're on the opposite end of town.

I had another random meeting of a PATP fan in Austin this week. He saw them play a SXSW day party outside of a pizza restaurant. This happened to be the day party that was presented by the guy I met in San Antonio earlier this year.
But I'm not so sure about this guy. He called me "freakishly beautiful" and that I resembled the creature from the science fiction/horror film, Splice. Was this a compliment ? ![]()

are you getting another car Jen?

I really want to get another car but finances are quite tight. I'm able to walk to work but getting around on public transportation in Austin can be a big pain in the arse sometimes. I'm not sure if it will happen this year.

had an amazing idea for a holiday
which basically involves finding a load of fun fares of National Express getting the Travelodge £19 deals and seeing how much of the UK we can get around in a week, rocking up at random places looking for the nearest venue seeing a gig and then on to the next town

That's a great idea ! Have any holiday time saved up from work yet ?

I was captured by the local paparazzi this week wearing my new Pirates T-shirt. OK, it was just one of the photographers from the Austin daily paper who covers local shows and events.

cool review ![]()
yes I do
going to look into it shortly
right now keeping it a bit of a dream is keeping me alive at work

well looks like that might be put on hold for a bit as Frank Turner has announced gigs I will need to take time off for
if the supports are good I might be partaking in a few Chiefs dates to
and then hoping we get some decent Cribs tours as well as a few more bands I would love to see
and if BRMC announce (which I seriously doubt) all plans will be dropped in order to fill my boots with them

got my hair cut like Dave Grohl

Anyone want to move to Texas ?
Daily summer temps of over 100F and a governor who claims that God wants him to run for president.
Sigh.
Offline
anyone want to move to London?
free TVs trainers jeans jewelry dvd's and milk
independent labels' music and furniture burns to warm the nights
while shops and banks stay closed
sorry if the humour is incredibly dry but this pains me more than I can really describe
been at the clean up of Clapham for most of the day
it was good to be a part of something so positive but disturbing to see the damage down by my neighbours to our doorstep
the shops are completely empty inside, smashed fittings and windows are all that remain
so many people with brooms and bin bags but the message has been ignored
Manchester and Birmingham now burn as London smolders

Wish I could send more than positive thoughts and virtual hugs.
Buying an extra album or two from Stolen Recordings doesn't feel like much but it's all I can do.
Glad you could be part of the cleanup effort.

Back in May, I saw The Duke Spirit at a small venue in Austin. It was filmed for the blog, Transistor Six. Fun, short set and I had a nice little meet and greet with them afterwards. I'm in a couple of photos. They're on the arty/blurry side and I think I remember wearing one of my Pete and the Pirates T-shirts.
